Highland Auto Transport
JONESBORO, GA
Atlanta is the hub of the Southeast, high volume, affordable, and right on the main Florida corridor.
Cost snapshot
Estimates use typical open-carrier market rates for a standard car, not quotes. Enclosed transport and larger vehicles cost more. Actual pricing varies by season, route and carrier availability.
Georgia, led by Atlanta, is the hub of the Southeast. Atlanta’s position where Interstates 75, 85 and 20 meet makes it one of the busiest and most affordable auto-transport markets in the region.
Atlanta is a major freight center, so carrier volume is high and pricing is competitive. Whether you are shipping into the metro or out of it, you will usually find capacity quickly and at a fair rate.
The main route carrying snowbirds between the Northeast, Midwest and Florida runs straight through Georgia on I-75. That is good for availability, but it also means Georgia feels the same seasonal swings: more demand and firmer pricing southbound in the fall and northbound in the spring.
New York to Atlanta and Chicago to Atlanta are busy relocation lanes, and Atlanta to Miami is a short, frequent run. The Los Angeles-to-Atlanta cross-country lane is well-served too. Expect quick booking on all of these outside the snowbird peaks.
Metro Atlanta is the cheapest and fastest to serve. Savannah and the coast are reachable but off the main interstate spine, and rural Georgia pickups or deliveries can cost more and take a little longer. Meeting near a major highway can lower your rate.
Georgia ships well year-round thanks to mild weather. The main thing to plan around is the snowbird corridor: if you can avoid the fall southbound and spring northbound peaks, you will find lower rates and easier scheduling.

Good to know
Atlanta is a hub, so rates are competitive. Northeast and Midwest lanes are moderate; the West Coast lane costs more for the distance, as shown above.
From the Northeast or Midwest, roughly 2 to 4 days once a carrier is assigned; from the West Coast, about 5 to 7 days.
Yes. Because the main Florida route runs through Georgia on I-75, the state sees the same seasonal demand swings southbound in fall and northbound in spring.
